Front-End Web Developer

Initially hourly rate (to be agreed upon), transitioning to full-time employment after a probationary period. We are currently looking for an experienced front-end developer to join our team and assist in the creation of visually stunning and highly functional websites for our clients. Our ideal candidate would be someone situated in the Chicago area, specifically in the northwest suburbs.

  • Location:  Hybrid work model – 3 days in our office in Des Plaines, IL, and 2 days remotely.
  • Working hours: 9 AM to 5 PM, Mon – Friday
  • Compensation: Initially hourly rate (to be agreed upon), transitioning to full-time employment after a probationary period.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 3 years of experience in front-end development, with a focus on creating customized WordPress themes and templates
  • Expertise in advanced interactive front-end development using JavaScript libraries such as GSAP
  • Fluency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and responsive design principles
  • Experience with CSS preprocessors such as Sass or Less
  • Understanding of website performance optimization techniques
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Good Communication and teamwork skills
Additional asset: Experience with UI/UX design principles and tools

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaboration with designers and back-end developers to create visually appealing, responsive, and user-friendly websites
  • Creating custom WordPress themes and templates using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and other front-end technologies
  • Implementing advanced interactive front-end development, including animations and interactive elements using JavaScript libraries such as GSAP
  • Optimizing websites for performance, responsiveness on mobile devices, and compatibility with different browsers
  • Making daily decisions about the implementation of specific features, following best practices and design guidelines
  • Staying up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in front-end development
